Necessary cookies

These support requested functions such as signing in and remembering a privacy choice. They are separate from optional visitor measurement.

• Privacy preferences: remember whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies for 180 days after you save your choice. Your choice applies to the Chirlo website and app and to creator pages on the same website.
• Sign-in cookies: keep you signed in to your account. They normally last seven days and may be renewed while you use Chirlo. Other cookies used during sign-in last for a short time or until you close your browser. They are not used to measure visits to creator pages.

Optional analytics cookies

These remain off until you explicitly accept them. They help creator reports distinguish repeat visitors and group activity during a visit. On the Chirlo website and app, they also help Chirlo understand how its product is used so it can improve it. Chirlo uses these cookies for analytics, not advertising.

• Repeat-visit cookies: help recognize a returning visitor. They last for 90 days after their most recent use while your consent remains active.
• Visit cookies: group activity during a visit. They last for 30 minutes after their most recent use while your consent remains active.

Accepting, rejecting and changing your choice

Accept cookies enables the optional visitor and session cookies. Reject cookies keeps them off. Closing a notice before choosing saves a rejection. Later, Cookie preferences in the footer lets you reopen the controls and change your choice. Clearing cookies or the saved choice expiring can require a new choice.

A cookie notice appears on your first visit, wherever you are. Optional analytics cookies stay off until accepted. Supported privacy preferences in your browser can also keep these cookies off, even after an earlier acceptance.

A saved choice applies across the Chirlo website, its app and creator pages on the same website. It does not automatically transfer to another website, browser or device. Browser settings can block or delete cookies; blocking sign-in cookies can prevent you from signing in.

What is recorded without analytics cookies

Rejecting analytics cookies does not disable the creator page, forms or links. Chirlo still records page views and link clicks, including the time, approximate country, device type, website you arrived from, campaign information and destination opened. Optional cookies are not used to recognize repeat visits or group activity. The remaining activity information is not necessarily anonymous. On the Chirlo website and app, page views and interactions are likewise still measured without these cookies.

Withdrawing consent removes the optional analytics cookies and the repeat-visit information associated with them. Previously recorded page views and link clicks remain until the creator page is removed; they do not expire automatically. Clearing or allowing cookies to expire does not delete information Chirlo already holds. The privacy policy explains retention in more detail.

Other browser storage

Chirlo can remember preferences on your device, such as your theme, selected creator page and reporting period. These preferences normally remain until Chirlo or you clear them through your browser settings.

Saved signup progress lets you return to unfinished page setup and may remember who referred you to Chirlo. It remains until cleared during signup or through your browser settings; it does not expire automatically. A backup of saved progress may be retained to help recover it. This information may be saved when you visit the website, including pages without a cookie banner.

Embedded media and external websites

Creators can include video and music players from other services. When a preview or player loads, its provider may receive your IP address and browser information or use its own cookies. Some content loads when you open the page, before you press play or accept Chirlo’s analytics cookies.

Cookie preferences in the footer controls Chirlo’s optional analytics cookies. It does not manage cookies on external websites or automatically block third-party media. Consult the relevant provider’s notice and browser controls.
